Vampire legends exist across the world, but are most common in Slavic folklore. Vampires are traditionally created from a human being bitten by another Vampire: if the victim doesn't die, then they enter the realm of the undead. Various other circumstances are suggested as causing Vampirism in different legends, such as committing suicide.. Vampires need to drink human blood in order to survive, and thus prey on their victims. Vampires were popularized in modern culture by Dram Stoker's book "Dracula", where the main character was based on Vlad III of Wallachia (also known as Vlad the Impaler and Vlad Dracula).

Vampires are considered to be Dark creatures. They are referenced in many Other books on DADA, and covered in DADA classes.

Vampires appear to originate from Europe, as every reference to them thus far has been associated with a European country. Many myths of ridding a Vampire had been made such as garlic, relics, religious emblems, daylight, & stakes.

Vampires often possess a type of power that most normal humans do not hold. Pure And full blood vampires will be capable of swift fast moments called blurs. The ' blur ' comes form a swift or abnormally fast movement. Oddly enough, to the vampire's advantage most inherit insane strength and will power. Interactions with most of these creatures are very dangerous. They are very tricky and very hostile. Vampires are not considered animals among the wizarding world, but more of humans. Vampires are regarded as non-wizard part humans, and are classified as "beings" rather than "beasts" by the Ministry of Magic.

Physical structures of Vampires are Complex. Many have dark colored eyes. Some are rather bulk in muscle tissue leaving them to be slightly pale. They inherit fangs and a heighten stance. This gives them an edge over their rival species '' Lycan '' or '' Werewolve ''. The Vampire often crave and fight with this race for blood.

Most Vampires are aristocratic and controlled, meaning they know what they're doing and when they're doing it. Unlike lycans, Vampires have a sense in what their doing until the point of Starvation kicks in internally.
